Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where will Paws Walk be held this year?

This year’s Paws Walk will be held on Sunday, June 4 at Stratham Hill Park (270 Portsmouth Ave, Stratham, NH 03885).

  • What time should I arrive at Stratham Hill Park on June 4?

Registration and the Vendor Village will open at 10 am, and the walk itself will take place at noon.

  • Can I bring my dog

Yes! At Stratham Hill Park, licensed, well-behaved and vaccinated dogs are welcome to attend on a leash. Please leave female dogs that are in season and all other pets at home.

  • Do I have to register in advance? Can I bring a guest?

We suggest you register in advance and fundraise as much money possible for the animals, but we also allow walk up registrations at Stratham Hill Park. Any guests you bring can also register on event day at the park.

  • Is there a rain date?

No.  Paws Walk will take place on Sunday, June 4 rain or shine.

  • How do I get a Paws Walk shirt?

You have the option to purchase your 2023 Paws Walk t-shirt with your registration OR register and raise $29 by Sunday, May 21. T-shirts will be distributed at the event. If you are a Virtual Paws Walker, they will be mailed to the addressed provided at registration.

  • How do I get the other cool prizes?

The more money you raise you for the animals, the more prizes that you’ll earn!  Prizes are earned based on your own individual fundraising, not as a team.  Prizes are cumulative, and after Paws Walk, you’ll be able to choose a prize from each fundraising level you achieve.

  • How do I collect my prizes for fundraising?

T-shirts will be distributed at the event. All other prizes will be redeemed by email after the event. You will get to choose from a selection of prizes for each fundraising level achieved, and they’ll be delivered to the address provided when you register. You’ll have until June 18 to reach your fundraising goals. Be on the lookout for an email in the last week of June to redeem your prizes.

  • Is my Paws Walk registration fee tax deductible?

Registrations for in-person Paws Walkers are considered an entertainment fee and are not tax deductible. The Internal Revenue Service considers entry fees for charitable events to be similar to tickets to sports games, gala events or theater performances—it is the price paid for attending and participating. We do consider the Virtual Paws Walker registration fee tax deductible since this registration does not include access to the event.

Any donations above and beyond the in-person registration fee, including donations made by others in support of your walk, are considered tax deductible.

  • What is the deadline for turning in my donations?

All of the cash or check donations you collect need to be mailed and received at the New Hampshire SPCA by Friday, June 16, 2022. Online fundraising runs through Sunday, June 18.

  • How do I turn in cash donations that I have collected?

If you collect any cash or check donations, you can turn them in at Paws Walk registration on Sunday, June 4 or mail them, along with the completed donation form located in the Paws Walk Brochure, to New Hampshire SPCA, ATTN: PAWS WALK, P.O. Box 196, Stratham, NH 03885. Be sure to include your name and Paws Walk so we can credit them to you.

Cash and check donations will not appear in your online fundraising total unless you specifically request this. Please email jhalama@nhspca.org to do so.
