Ellie had a little adventure today to celebrate National Take A Walk in the Park Day, which if you ask Ellie, should be celebrated every day!
Ellie is a typical hound. She’s vocal, smart, loves to sniff all the smells, and enjoys being with her people and other animals. She also exhibits a classic hound trait of being single-minded and laser focused. In this case, Ellie’s main focus in life is FOOD. To say she is food motivated is, quite frankly, putting it mildly. She is food obsessed. She will make quick work of an unsecured trash can, cruise the counters for morsels and crumbs, snatch a piece of pizza from your hand if you’re not paying attention or even figure out how to open a freezer and eat a whole frozen lasagna. Because of her one-track mind where there is food involved, Ellie has been adopted and returned a few times. Each home says the same thing, she’s an absolute love, but she’s a lot to handle when it comes to managing her behavior around food.
She needs a committed home willing to work with her consistently and give her time to adjust. She’s a sweet, sweet girl worthy of a loving home! She gets along great with other cats and dogs—but we would recommend a home without small children.
If you love and understand hounds and can provide this sweet girl with the home she is desperately searching for, please contact us at info@nhspca.org. Thanks for sharing.
