It’s not every day you come across a dog that has the ability to make each and every person feel as though they are the very best part of her life. We’ve had the honor of knowing Riley since October 2021 and we have honestly yet to see her love run dry.

Around here, we know one thing to be true: To know Riley is to love Riley.

As she waited in her kennel day after day, week after week, and month after month… we wondered how it was possible such a remarkable dog was remaining homeless after all this time. Riley transitioned into her foster home a couple of months ago, which has given us valuable information about how she behaves in a home.

Unsurprisingly, Riley has been a fantastic house guest. She is fully housebroken, entertains herself when she’s feeling playful, and has been a tried-and-true source of happiness for her foster family.

This charming girl turns heads everywhere she goes with her expressive ears, endearing head tilt, and soulful eyes. The best part about her, though, is that for every ounce of beauty, Riley has five ounces of personality. She doesn’t take life (or herself) too seriously, is inherently kind, and is an expert at matching energy.

So, whether you want to spend time outside or curled up on the couch: Riley will be right there next to you, zero questions asked. And hey, she won’t even judge you for how many times Netflix asks if you’re still watching… Every time you click “yes” just means more time she gets to be with you.

Riley’s foster family recently recruited the help of a trainer to work on her dog reactivity. After just a few sessions, it’s been determined that this intelligent, curious girl is very eager to learn and loves to please. While she has already made some progress after just a few sessions, we are seeking a home where she can be the only pet.

It makes our collective heart so happy to know she is spending every day being loved on and cherished by such a wonderful foster family — security and comfort she has missed out on feeling for quite some time. We love that she spends her days sunbathing in the backyard and keeping an eye on the neighbors, chipmunks and birds from the porch… and we’re confident she’s grunting like a little piglet numerous times per day (her way of saying she’s exceptionally happy).

Of course, all of us are hoping to find Riley’s forever. We’re searching for a family that will welcome her into their home with open arms and a love so great that she forgets all about having been homeless for so long. We know this appreciative snugglebug will return all that love and then some.
